Maker of the Week number two: Claire Pouget Wright!

Maker Of The Week Number 2!

A Duncan of Jordanstone graduate (2005), Claire is a contemporary jewellery designer and mixed media artist based in Edinburgh. Her jewellery explores the idea of ‘quirky houses’ through colourful squares of various shapes and sizes, decorated with vibrant colours, patterns and textures. Inspired by travelling and wandering through streets with her old SLR camera, Claire’s jewellery is hand-crafted using a variety of techniques such as, stone setting and photo-etching and detailed with colourful Lazertran transfer. Her aim is to create elegant yet playful jewellery that brings a bit of colour into your life!

Introducing this week’s Maker of the Week…Fiona Hermse!

Constantly inspired by our interaction with the natural world, I am particularly fascinated by superstition, spiritual belief and myth in nature.

Pieces from my new collection have been inspired by urban imagery from a recent visit to Peru. They are derived from composition and delicate aesthetic contrasts, simultaneously encompassing delicate beauty but also the notion of restraint.
